have you ever been driving along on the highway, when suddenly all of the street lights turn on or off? i’m sure you’ve all seen it dozens of times…or perhaps it happens without you even noticing. we all assume that when the sun rises or sets to just a certain point…or when a predetermined timer is activated…that the lights are simply switched…flicked on or off, right? well, i see something different. when these lights switch, God winks at me. yep, that’s right…i just said that. i know, that may sound a bit ridiculous and juvenile… but this is something i decided years ago, and it’s stuck with me ever since.
so, this morning, on the way to work, God winked at me again.
every time He does, it brings a smile to my face….no matter what sort of mood i may be in. it really helps put things into perspective. that all these things that i know…that i try to control…work, family, money, friends, traffic; they’re not really about me at all, but about Him. it’s the perfect reminder that i have no control over so many things…i can’t even turn the street lights on.
